Two great houses in Placencia, Belize.

The locals call it "barefoot perfect". Sixteen miles of white sand beach stretching from one end of the Placencia Peninsula where it touches the mainland, to the other end, simply known as the "Point". This is where the colorful and laid back village of Placencia rests, at the meeting place between the blue lagoon and the warm Caribbean Sea in a postcard image of tropical beauty.

Placencia village is also where you will find two wonderful places to stay - Blue Garden House, perched on the edge of the large Placencia lagoon, where sunsets take your breath away and you can paddle a kayak right from the house into hidden mangrove waterways that are home to Manatees and other exotic wildlife.

A short walk to the ocean side of the peninsula is Colibri House, located right on the white sand beach and only steps away from the water.  Both houses offer the perfect place to stay in Placencia and are within easy walking distance of all the village attractions.

Placencia Attractions and Adventures...
What to do in Placencia? Placencia offers a wide diversity of activities to explore and savor, from active and energetic to relaxing and laid back.

Silk Cayes

Take time to explore the village of Placencia, with its colorful shops, small restaurants, world’s longest sidewalk, and popular beach bars. Be sure to sample Tutti Frutti ice cream at The Point, for world-class Italian gelato with a Belizean flavor twist.

Day tours are available with different tour companies in the village to visit the incredible Belize Barrier Reef. From April to June, whale sharks congregate at the Gladden Spit Marine Reserve, attracting divers from all over the world to see these spectacular marine creatures, particularly during the full moon.

Fishing is another great activity in Placencia. Spin-casting or fly-fishing for such species as permit, tarpon and bonefish is among the best in the world (you can also fish right from the dock at Blue Garden House or take a kayak out to fish for snappers and other species). You can organize half-day or day-long fishing trips for flats fishing or deep-sea fishing with different guides in the village.

Kayaking, local sailing charters, jungle tours, Mayan ruin excursions, birdwatching tours, river excursions to see wildlife – all this and more is available right from Placencia village, where both Blue Garden House and Colibri House are located.
